3-D "Memory Urns" -- January 2011
Memory urns have been to memorialize loved ones in a beautiful form. Weʼll re-shape that purpose in celebration of people, events and places that hold deep meaning to us. Create gorgeous mosaic vessels while learning the basics of three dimensional, direct method mosaic work including substrates, adhesives, materials, tools and safety. Ceramic tile, glass, jewelry, keys, baubles, coins, and even photos can be embedded into a vessel you choose. Start collecting your meaningful objects now; materials also available, including Cheri Pannʼs lovely fused glass pieces at an additional cost.

Gardens of Art / Artful Gardens -- February 2011
Mosaic art holds endless possibilities for enlivening your green spaces with a splash of color to suit your tastes! Learn the popular indirect method of mosaics for creating your choice of stepping stones or mini murals, and work in the style of the old masters to create a very special visual focal point surrounded by a “field” designed to enhance, intensify and illuminate it. We will work in brilliant vitreous glass and have access to Cheri Pannʼs lovely fused glass pieces at an additional cost.

Express Yourself! -- April 2011
Intermediate Level and Beginner Level
This is your opportunity --Mother's Day is a month away! Create an image that speaks to you, a name, a wish, your house number or...? The specific project is up to you, limited only by your imagination. In this “open studio format” workshop, mosaicist Cinder Hypki will focus on enhancing your skills and knowledge of mosaic methods, materials, adhesives, substrates, cutting techniques and health/safety considerations. Leave with artwork to gift or keep and a solid foundation in learning this ancient craft. Workshop size is kept small to ensure lots of individual attention! After receiving a grouting demonstration, participants will be given a grouting kit and will take their pieces with them to grout at home.
Note: Intermediate practitioners can bring their own projects to work on and enhance technical skills.
